An account of Great Britain's forces, 1714-1725, manuscript on paper, 155 pages, small 8vo (152 x 95mm) , paginated, blanks, written in a neat bookhand in brown ink, rulings in red, with index (some light spotting), 18th-century panelled calf gilt, covers with acorn and flowerhead cornerpieces (upper cover detached, worn).

The manuscript comprises a 'Succession of Colonels to their Respective Corps of Horse Dragoons Foott [sic]', the 'State of Full Pay, Subsistance, Deductions, Clearings' per day and per annum for Horse Guards, Grenadier Guards, Dragoons, Foot etc, 'An Abstract of the Forces in Great Britain, their numbers, Quality & Charge' per annum, a list of the 'Severall Establishments of his Majesty's Land Forces in Minorca, Gibraltar and the Plantations' (1717 to 1725), 'Ranks of Regiments as settled by the Board of General Officers' (19 February 1714/5 and 1718), regulations on the buying and selling of commissions, (1719/20) and Navy list for 1722 (listing ships, numbers of men and of guns). A final account lists the 'whole numbers & charge p[er] ann[um] of all his Majestys Forces', totalling £1,073,747 for forces in Great Britain, Minorca, Gibraltar, West Indies, Annapolis Bay, New York, Jamaica, Bermuda and Ireland.
