MILITARY INTEREST:- A GROUP OF THREE WILLIAM IV/VICTORIAN SILVER SNUFF BOXES WITH REGIMENTAL PRESENTATION INSCRIPTIONS INCLUDING ONE RELATING TO THE INDIAN MUTINY, Respectively a rectangular engine-turned box by Thomas Shaw Birmingham, 1836, cover inscribed "A tribute of respect presented by the noncommissioned officers & privates of the 2nd. Troop of Rol. 1st. Dn. Yn. Cav.ry to their Captn. T. Snow Esqr. 8th. Octr. 1839" , (Royal 1st. Devon Yeomanry Cavalry), with bevelled, chased floral sides, 2¾ in. long (7 cm.), ALSO an oblong, engine-turned snuff box with applied foliate scroll border, by Yapp & Woodward, Birmingham, 1851, cover with cartouche inscribed "Presented to W.I.Bruce, Esq.e by Lieut. H.W.Wily, 50th. Regiment as a token of sincere friendship and in remembrance of the many acts of kindness received at his hands, Septr. 1851" , 3¾ in. long (9.6 cm.), AND an oblong snuff box by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham, 1833, the cover with plain reserve & raised floral border, chased floral sides & engine-turned base, inscribed inside cover "Presented to Doctor William Boyd, H.M. 32nd Regt. by Lt. Colonel J.A.Ewart, 93rd. Highlanders in grateful recollection of his skill, kindness and attention at Cawnpore" , 3 3/8 in. long (8.5 cm.), 14 oz. (3)
