.30-06 caliber, 24.75" barrel length, S/N 456388. Blue barrel, barrel bands and receiver. Walnut stock and handguard. Markings on top of barrel in five lines "US Springfield Armory Model 1903" followed by serial number. Markings at the tip of the barrel behind the front site in three lines "SA (bomb with flames) 2-11." Cartouche on left side of stock in a box "JFC" and firing proof marking "P" right behind triggerguard. "56" marked on top of stock above buttplate. Rack number is marked on right side of stock in three lines " I 14 56." This is a beautiful example of a pre-World War I 1903 rifle. Condition: This rifle is in very good condition. The barrel, barrel bands and receiver retain most of the original blue finish. The walnut stock and handguard have nicks and dings. The markings, cartouche and proof markings are all very sharp and crisp. The rack markings are a little faded, but are good. The bore is in good condition. A fine example of a true and unaltered Model 1903 Springfield rifle.
