No. 21 of 50. Photographer's stamp on print verso. Todd Webb (1905-2000) was a New York photographer in a circle of artists including Alfred Stieglitz, Berenice Abbott, Harry Callahan, Gordon Parks, Lisette Model and others. He is perhaps best known for his portraits of Georgia O'Keefe during her years in Santa Fe. Webb was one of the photographers who collaborated with John Steinbeck in America and Americans, published in 1966. "Webb’s images captured a city of contrasts—from skyscrapers to tenements, high-powered businessmen to children at play...Although Webb never became famous, his peers recognized his outsized talent and unique perspective, which is only now being discovered by the rest of the world." - Todd Webb Archive describing the 2017 exhibit A City Seen: Todd Webb’s Postwar New York, 1945-1960.
