Seven views document wild Montana buffaloes, including the scene, "Last Buffalo Chase in America," which shows four cowboys on horses herding bison in the distance during the round-up and shipping of Michel Pablo's bison herd to Canada. The Mission Mountains are visible in the distance. Ca 1907-1909. Stereoviews of Indian subjects by Forsyth include "Plenty Coos, Chief of the Crows"; "A Nes [sic] Perce Indian on His War Horse"; "Squaw Arriving at Sun Dance Camp"; and "The Real American and the Simple Life." Two printed stereoviews showing the Crow Indian Ghost Dance and Indians and Cavalrymen are also enclosed. The lot also contains two printed postcards, the first a view of the "Great and Last Hostile Indian Camp on Brule River Before the 'Wounded Knee' Massacre in 1891," published by Fishel & Co., Deadwood, SD (unused); the second a scarce view of "Beardy's Warriors," which shows members of the Plains Cree Nation and "Northwest Rebellion," published by C.S. Co. Ltd., Winnipeg. A promotional, folding imprint with original envelope from L.A. Huffman's Miles City, Montana photo studio is also enclosed. Condition: Stereoviews in very good to near excellent condition. Some with even toning, some light soiling. Light corner/edgewear to mounts. Light wear to Huffman mailer and original envelope, which has a few short tears along perimeter.
