Beschreibung:

Developed in the late 1950s and beginning production in 1963, the Walther MPK found usage among West German police agencies during the Cold War, as well as found several contracts in South America. While finding some success, Heckler & Koch's MP5 submachine dominated domestic and foreign sales, ultimately ending Walther's production of their MP line of submachine guns in the mid-1980s. This example was manufactured in 1971 and is stamped with the Walther banner logo followed by "MP Walther Cal. 9mm", as well as with an "(Eagle) / N" commercial nitro proof followed by the year of manufacture "71" and an Ulm proofhouse stamp. Left side of upper assembly is stamped "MADE IN GERMANY INTERARMS ALEXANDRIA Mod. Kurz" followed by the serial number and an additional "(Eagle) / N" proof. Safety selector is marked "S", "D", and "E". Features include a phosphate finish, 6 - 3/4" chrome-lined barrel, integral ventilated handguard, gutter and peep sights, 2-piece serrated black plastic grips, ambidextrous selector switch, as well as a side-folding wire stock with a rubberized coating. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, upper assembly, barrel, as well as on the bolt assembly. Barrel and bolt assembly are matching via an electro-penciled inscription. Complete with a period green canvas sling. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original factory-applied grey parkerized finish, exhibiting some silvering on the upper assembly from operation of the charging handle/dust cover, as well as the standard area of wear on the receiver from operation of the selector switch. Mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well-defined lands and grooves throughout. 2-piece black plastic grips are excellent. A very attractive example of Walther's MPK submachine gun, that is seldom encountered as a FULLY TRANSFERABLE firearm. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 or 4. Name Value Accessories Barrel Length 6 - 3/4" Caliber/Bore 9mm Para FFL Status NFA Manufacturer Walther Model MPK Paperwork Sear Serial Number Serial Number 26219
