[Naples: Mattia Cancer, 1554]. 4° (205 x 142mm). Small woodcut arms of a cardinal on title, large arms of the city of Naples on the verso. (Waterstain in upper margin.) Early 19th-century calf, the boards with gilt fillet border and the word "rarissimo", spine gilt (slightly rubbed). Provenance : purchase inscription on last page dated 3 December 1554. An extremely rare description of Philip II's entry into Naples in November 1554 with a long list and description of the Neapolitan notables who attended the event and a short description of the festivities. Censimento A-3564 (locating only one copy); not in Manzi; not in BLSTC.
