Naval General Service 1796-1840, 2 clasps, St Vincent, 12 Octr 1798 (John Olive), contemporarily renamed in large engraved serif capitals Paymaster John Olive was a Midshipman serving in HMS Goliath at the Battle of Cape St Vincent on 14 February 1797 and Captain's Clerk in HMS Ethalion on 12 October 1798, he died in 1864 and is buried in St Mary's Church, Chatham.
