Atlas of plates only (lacks 4to text). 10 fascicles in 2 vols., folio, 470 x 285 mm., contemporary half calf, worn, plate 23 badly torn, smaller tears affecting plates 39, 73, 81, 82, 84, 90 and 91, plates 64, 83, 86 and 88 with large patches on verso, some other nicks and small repairs, some plates foxed, sheets darkened. FIRST EDITION. Lithographed title, upper wrappers for fascicles 1-4 bound in, 100 lithographed plates, colored by hand, by Henry, Hohe and Wild. Rare. "A fine work of good lithographs well-coloured"(Dunthorne). Nees von Esenbeck was Director of the Bonn Botanic Garden, Sinning its head-gardener and this work is a catalogue of the exotics growing there, including camellias, magnolia and Banksias.
