Nelson A. Rockefeller (1908-1979) - 41st Vice President and 49th Governor of New York - two typed letters, signed. The first sent in response to a letter from Dr J. B. Kanuga (Gandhi's personal physician) congratulating Rockefeller on his appointment of Governor in November 1958. The letter reads; Dear Doctor Kanuga, Thank you very much for your recent letter. You are most thoughtful to write, and your good wishes are greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Nelson A. Rockefeller Signed in blue ink to its conclusion. On Rockefeller Plaza headed stationery. The second letter briefly thanking Kanuga for his sympathy wishes, dated June 1960. Also typed, and signed to its conclusion. One headed State Of New York stationery. Largest 27cm x 19cm, approx.
