Eugène Rodrigues avait réuni l'une des plus grandes collections de dessins anciens de son temps. Elle était particulièrement riche en feuilles allemandes et des Pays-Bas des XVe et XVIe siècles, mais l'un de ses points forts était un rare ensemble d'œuvres de Lagneau. La vente de sa collection, réalisée en 1921, comportait pas moins de douze portraits dessinés de l'artiste.
Eugène Rodrigues had assembled one of the largest collections of old drawings of his time. It was particularly rich in German and Dutch sheets from the 15th and 16th centuries, but one of its highlights was a rare group of works by Lagneau.
