(of Menston).- Charter, grant by Robert, son of William of Brerelaye to William, son of Michael Attebeck of Mensington of four plots of land in the West Field of Mensington, rendering annually a rose on the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, witnesses: Walter of Hawksword, Matthew de Mensington and others, 16 lines, 6 small wormholes, slightly stained and creased, n.d. [c. 1280s]; Grant by Elizabeth, widow of William, son of Robert de Sewerby of Mensyngton of the one part and William, son of William Attebeck of the other part, a certain piece of meadow in the of Mensyngton between the Langsyke on the east side and land of Walter of Hawksworth on the west side, witnesses: Walter of Middleton, Walter of Hawksworth and others, manuscript in duplicate (should be separated between parties but here they are both together), 16 lines, chirograph at head of both documents, yellow wax seal, abraded, 117 x 230mm., Feast of St. Martin [11th November], 1315; Grant by William, son of Michael Attebeck of Mensyngton to William his son, two shillings annual rent arising from land and tenements which William, son of Gilbert had of him in the vill and field of Mensynton, and other similar transactions, witnesses: Walter de Hawkesworth, Walter his , Thomas de Monte Alto and others, 18 lines, lacks seal, 155 x 274mm., Thursday, Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul [25th January], 1329; Grant by William of Attebeck of Mensyngton to Walter of Hawksworth of land and tenements in Mensyngton, witnesses: Symon Warde, John of Calversly and others, 10 lines, 76 x 294mm., Feast of St. Barnabas the Apostle [11th June], 1345; and 4 others, medieval deeds, including 3 relating to the Attebecke family and Menston and 1 relating to Robert de Sewerby, manuscripts in Latin, on vellum, folds, some browning, v.s., v.d.
