C. and Mrs Williams of St. George’s Road, Bedford. He was educated at Willow Hill School (Devon) and Bedford School, 1905-10. Initially in business in London, he went to India in 1912. He was in Calcutta when war began, and joined the Calcutta Light Horse. As soon as he could, he joined the I.A.R.O. and in March 1916 obtained a commission in the Supply and Transport Corps and was posted to Mesopotamia in the Autumn of that year. He gained a commission in the Indian Army in the Spring of 1918 and joined the 23rd Cavalry at the end of July 1918. He was killed in action in Mesopotamia on 27 October 1918, three days before the Turks surrendered. Sold with copied obituaries and other research
