Title: Panorama of San Francisco from Stockton Street to Happy Valley, 1856 Author: Fardon, George Robinson Place: San Francisco Publisher: Hecht-Behrman Date: 1910 Description: 7-panel gelatin silver copy photograph panorama, each image approximately 13.5x17 to 13.5x20 cm. (5-3/8x6-3/4" to 5-3/8x7-7/8"), image overall approximately 13.5x130.5 cm. (5-3/8x51-3/8"); mounted on cardboard backing, framed under glass. Copy photograph made by T.E. Hecht and Martin Behrman around 1910 of Fardon's 1856 panorama of San Francisco from Telegraph Hill to Happy Valley (now SOMA). Five of the seven panels are captioned in the negative, including: View down Stockton St. * Telegraph Hill from Stockton & Cal. Sts., 1856. * View from Stockton St. showing portion bet. Washington & Sacramento Sts., 1856. * St. Mary's Church, 1856. * View over Happy Valley, 1856. The third and fifth panels are uncaptioned. Lot Amendments Condition: Light wear to the frame, the mounting non-archival; somewhat faded, otherwise in very good condition, an impressive panorama. Because of the size, extra shipping charges apply. Item number: 230527
