Pathways of Palestine, a descriptive tour through the Holy Land, by H.B. Tristram. London: Sampson Low, Marston, Searle, and Rivington [1881]. First Series, out of two (the second was printed in 1882). English. Travelogue of Palestine by English naturalist and traveler Henry Baker Tristram. The book contains twenty-three photographs by Frank Mason Good The photographs depict sites and views of Jerusalem and its surroundings, including the Dome of the Rock, the Western Wall, the village of Siloam, Elisha's Spring, Rachel's Tomb and more. The photographer, Frank Mason Good began his career as an assistant to the photographer Francis Frith He is known mainly for the photographs he took during his travels in the Middle East in the 1860s and 1870s. [5] leaves, 132 pp + [23] plates, 30 cm. Gilt edges. Good condition. Stains. Slight creases. Ink stamp on title page. Restored binding, with new spine and endpapers. Minor blemishes to binding.
