"Circassia" (December 1942), sheet size 18 x 25cm The Tunisian Campaign (also known as the Battle of Tunisia) was a series of WWII battles that took place during the North African Campaign from 17 November 1942 to 13 May 1943. The battle opened with initial success by German and Italian forces but their supplies were intercepted by allied forces which led to the decisive victory for the allied forces. Over 250,000 German and Italian troops were taken prisoners of war.
