(4 x 3 1/8in.), cut around black border, burnished gold ground surrounding the initial in pale pink with white tracery. Within, on a dark blue ground, the Virgin, in dark blue cloak, and ten apostles, standing with hands clasped in prayer, looking up. Above, the lower part of a person garbed in red, surrounded by a white mandorla, tongues of fire descending onto the figures below. On verso, small portions of two lines of text and music, with square neumes on red four-line staves. Extremities clipped, gold rubbed. Matted and framed. The initial combines the iconography of the Ascension and Pentecost.
