Lot of two photographs, including: an albumen photograph blindstamped Landy/Photo./Cin./O. at lower left, on a 5" x 9.75" mount with gold beveled edges and Landy's recto imprint. The photograph must have been taken from a boat mid-river and shows the Cincinnati public landing looking northeast, with Mount Adams in the background. Several riverboats are packed along the northern bank and the water level reaches into at least the first level of the visible buildings.; and a ca 1894 silver gelatin print on a boudoir size mount imprinted on recto D.C. Herrin, The Dalles, Or./Columbia River Scenery/On the Line of O.R.& N. Co.. The photograph shows a large group of men on the second floor balcony of a building which includes the Union Pacific Ticket Office, avoiding the high waters of the 1894 Columbia River flood. One man can be seen mooring his boat to a mostly submerged boxcar. Condition: Cincinnati photograph: minor wear and even toning, else very good. Oregon photograph: print is excellent; mount with light wear and minor spotting.
