Plat de reliure commandité par le prince Mohammad Vali Mirzâ-yé Qâjâr, gouverneur de Khorasan signé Ebn-é Mohammad Rezâ-yé Ispahâni en 1231H. (1815) en papier-mâché laqué, à décor peint en polychromie de nombreuses constellations sur fond vert, légendées en "nasta'liq" jaune, encadré de 12 cartouches à décor épigraphique présentant le nom des planètes, de la lune et du soleil sur deux lignes (Merikh (Mars), Moshtari (Jupiter), Atârod (Mercure), Zohreh (Vénus), Zohal (Saturn), Mâh (lune) et Aftâb (soleil), alternant avec 12 cartouches polylobés donnant les douze mois de l'année. Dédicace en haut au centre : Hasb al-amr-é navvâb-é mostatâb, shahzâdeh sepehr eqtedâr, Mohammad Vali Mirzâ-yé Qâjâr, vâli (yé) mamlekat-é Khorâsân, surat-é etmâm yâft. "Sous la commande du prince Mohammad Vali Mirzâ-yé Qâjâr, le gouverneur de Khorasan". Daté en bas à droite 1231 de l'Hégire. Signé en bas à gauche : Ebn-é Mohammad Rezâ-yé Ispahâni Au revers : en nasta'liq jaune, dans une mandorle à fond noire, le texte répète le nom du commanditaire et précise que ces constellations sont illustrées et faites (rasm va maktub) d’après le manuscrit du grand savant Hakim Abu Nasr Fârâbi. La dernière ligne répète le nom du copiste. Iran, 1815. 30 x 20 cm Mohammad Vali Mirza (1789 - 1864) est le troisième fils du souverain qajar Fath ’Ali Shah (r. 1797-1834). Plusieurs manuscrits lui sont associés en tant que commanditaire. Pour consolider l'autorité de la dynastie Qajar sur les provinces, Fath 'Alī Shah lança une politique consistant à envoyer ses jeunes fils dans les provinces, non seulement comme des marques de son pouvoir personnel, mais également pour remplacer les Qajar et autres chefs militaires peu fiables. De cette manière, Moḥammad-ʿAlī Mīrzā fut gouverneur de Qazvīn et Gīlān, puis de Kermānšāh et du Khorassan. Il mena des campagnes de conquêtes vers le Kurdistan et dans les provinces ottomanes d'Irak. A l'Est, il remporta des victoires contre les Afghans et les Turkmènes.
