Count Camillo Marcolini Ferretti, was appointed director of the Meissen manufactory in 1774 and remained in office until 1814. In 1775 he added in the mark a star under crossed swords and it took the name "Marcolini mark" ". The Marcolini period was one of the most flourishing for manufacture.
