FIRST EDITION, one of 530 numbered copies signed by the author; in the Woburn Books Series -- POWYS. Autograph letter signed to Douglas Clayton, East Chaldon, Dorchester, 12 September 1929. 1 1/2 pages, 8vo, fold crease, with the original envelope addressed by Powys , discussing "The Dewpond" and "The Key of the Field": "...At first I thought that the 'Key of the Field' would be best to come out in the Woburn Books series. But Miss Sylvia Townsend Warner thought that the 'Dewpond' would be the best to begin with..." (3)
