Private album of a late 19th century Russian aristocratic family on a country estate Author: Place: No place Publisher: Date: [c. 1890-1900] Description: There are 16 large 17x22.3 cm (6¾x8¾”) albumen prints, and 94 smaller 8.3x10.7 cm (3¼x4¼”) prints. The album itself is 28x 35.5 cm (11x14”). This is a large family album of original photographs with the name “Nadar” in gilt on top corner of its first page. The photographs show a large and obviously important estate in Russia. Included are numerous family photos; landscapes; views of imposing architecture; as well as serfs, their homes, and their daily activities on the estate. A rare and remarkable album of historical interest. Lot Amendments Condition: Some wear to portfolio with bumped corners, rubbing with fraying and some stains; The photographs vary from very good to good condition (some faded edges and creases).
