signed Dyf (lower right)oil on canvas46 by 55cm., 18⅛ by 21⅝in. Framed: 58 by 67.5cm., 22⅞ by 26⅝in.Painted circa 1950.
The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Claudine Dyf.Condition reportThe canvas is not lined. Inspection under UV light reveals minor spots of retouching to the sky, including a vertical line of retouching towards the upper right edge. There are artist's pinholes to all four corners. There are fine lines of craquelure in places, some of which are slightly raised, with minor associated losses, most notably to the white pigment towards the back of the horse's body in the centre of the composition and along the centre of the right edge. There is paint shrinkage in places and some surface dirt to the composition. This work is in overall good condition.
