This book from Carson City, NV, with dates of 9 Dec. 1886 through 28 Feb. 1887. Over 300 pages filled out. Among the packages, cases, letters, boxes, baskets, and bales, one also finds caskets, a chair, cases of oysters, many boxes of fish, venison, a wheelbarrow, flowers, a clock, coops of chickens, fruit, vegetables, eggs, a pair of crutches and a live turtle. Millions of dollars a month moved from mining centers on Wells, Fargo carriers. On 17 Dec. a bag of coins valued at $5000 and one valued at $1000 were shipped from "Virginia" (City?); on 18 Dec. there were silver bars valued at $9772.27; on 22 Dec. bags of coins valued at $13,997.74; on 2 Jan. 2 bags of silver at $2000, 1 bag gold at $4281.35, and currency at $860; and many more. A slice of life in Carson City, and a record of one of the busiest shipping companies in the United States.
