Rare Hubert Sarton 2 Pillar Pinwheel Skeleton Mantle Clock, c.1830, 6.5 in. porcelain dial with open center exposing the front of the movement, has sweep seconds hand making 2 revolutions per minute and 31 date perpetual calendar mechanism, quality blued hands and gilt bronze bezel; quality round brass spring driven movement with pinwheel escapement, quality 9 rod gridiron pendulum with brass covered bob and half hour strike on a bell on top of the movement. Bronze 2 pillar case movement and dial resting on an arch, has a polished black marble base and the engraved brass plate in front of the beat indicator is signed "L.J. Laguefse, a Liege".
