REAGAN, Ronald (1911-2004). Partly printed check accomplished and signed ("Ronald Reagan"), as President, drawn on Bank of America, Beverly Hills, California, 23 May 1986. 1 p., oblong (2¾ x 6 in.), on blue safety paper, and with "Personal Account" printed at top . A CHARITABLE DONATION FROM THE PRESIDENT IN THE AMOUNT OF [$1,000] TO HANDS ACROSS AMERICA, an organization that staged a media-spectacle on 25 May 1986: a human chain of people holding hands from New York to California, as a gesture of solidarity for the poor. Reagan joined the chain in California, against the opposition of the Secret Service. -- NIXON, Richard M. (1913-1994). Printed check accomplished by typewriter and signed ("Richard Nixon"), drawn against Riggs National Bank, Washington D.C., 6 February 1956. 1 p., oblong (3 x 8 1/8 in.), with "Richard Nixon office account" printed along left edge . NIXON REIMBURSES "PETTY CASH" with this check made out to cash for $98.90, early in the re-election year of 1956. Eisenhower rejected pleas from some in his party to replace Nixon on the ticket that year. -- JOHNSON, Lyndon B. (1908-1973). Printed check accomplished in typewriting and signed ("Lyndon B. Johnson"), drawn on Johnson City Bank, Johnson City, Texas, 4 March 1969. 1 p., oblong (2¾ x 6¼ in.), on blue safety paper, with vignette of cattle and sheep in upper left corner . A check for 1-cent, written barely two months into Johnson's retirement, paid to David L. Wolper, the noted film and television producer. How Wolper earned this windfall is unclear. He knew Johnson from his 1965 documentary, "Seven Days in the Life of the President." Together 3 items . (3)
