Wah Wah Mountains, Beaver County, Utah Red beryl (formerly known as "Bixbite" and marketed as "red emerald" or "scarlet emerald") is a red variety of Beryl. It was first described in 1904. The dark red color is attributed to Manganese ions. Utah is the only known locality for the mineral. The claim, once briefly operated by Tiffany and Co. in search of treasured gem rough, is now entirely depleted and closed. These two fine emerald-cut red beryls are exceptional for their luster and are well-matched for their hue. They would create a unique pair of earrings for the knowledgeable and discerning collector. Weighing approximately 1.20 carats and measuring 7.26 x 6.45 x 3.60mm; together with a second emerald-cut red beryl, weighing approximately 1.13 carats and measuring 7.22 x 6.23 x 3.59mm.
