Parole "under the Convention of Saratoga" promising to return to Philadelphia and "that I will not do or say any thing to the prejudice of the United States of America," and pledging not to engage in any espionage. -- [MATHEW, Edward (1729-1805), General, Coldstream Guards.] Manuscript document "Account of 61 Days Subsistence for...Foot Guards commanded by Brig.
