Richard Riemerschmid Deutsch: Eckmöbel/ Ecktisch. Holz, verschiedene Furniere, Perlmutt. 100,5 x 80 x 80 cm. Quadratischer Tisch mit leicht geschweiften Seiten. Diagonal klappbare Tischplatte mit intarsiertem Dekor eines großen stilisierten Blatts/ Tropfens. Wandabschlussleiste mit Fries aus vierseitigen Perlmuttelementen. Bein unter der vorderen Ecke mit korrespondierenden ornamentalen Perlmuttintarsien. Perlmuttintarsien als gestalterisches Mittel verwendet Riemerschmid mehrfach in seinen Entwürfen, so erstmalig 1902/03 für den Salon im Haus von Heyl, Worms, dann im Empfangszimmer Haus Thieme, München, im Empfangszimmer für die Ausstellung der Dresdner Werkstätten und ebenso 1906 im Musikzimmer Haus Sultan, Berlin. Das Profil des horizontalen Wandabschlusses zeigt sich auch bei einer Kommode aus dem Haus Thieme, die sich heute im Stadtmuseum München befindet. English: Corner furniture/ corner table. Wall end strip with friezes made of four-sided mother-of-pearl elements. Leg under the front corner with corresponding ornamental mother-of-pearl inlays. Riemerschmid uses mother-of-pearl inlays as a creative tool several times in his designs, for the first time in 1902/03 for the salon in the house of Heyl, Worms, then in the reception room Haus Thieme, Munich, in the reception room for the exhibition of the Dresden workshops and also in 1906 in the music room Haus Sultan, Berlin.
