FIRST EDITION of Riederer's work on rhetorical theory, partly derived from Cicero, Quintilian and Albertanus of Brescia; the third part is one of the first German books of law formulas. It is THE FIRST GERMAN VERNACULAR TEXT AND THE FIRST ILLUSTRATED BOOK PRINTED AT FREIBURG. The illustrations were designed for the text and there was no earlier use of the blocks. Vera Sack has found three variant settings in the first six quires of three copies at Freiburg libraries.
