A fine and rare 18K gold, enamel and pearl-set musical snuff box Stamped R for Jean-Georges-Rmond, the musical movement attributed to Daniel Piguet, circa 1815 The box of rectangular form, the hinged cover with a painted enamel scene depicting the visit of Telemachus to Nestor in search of his missing father, chased gold, pearl-set and black enamel border, opened to reveal a gold compartment, translucent blue guilloch enamel sides and base, the borders and sides decorated with trailing vines in two tone blue champlev enamel, the four disc musical movement activated by a slide in the back, the keyhole in the base, together with an oval key decorated with two tone blue enamel and polychrome flowers, stamped with maker's mark R between two pellets in a horizontal lozenge, post 1815 Geneva town mark, Paris and departmental control marks 1809-1815 80 mm. wide
