Buisson, 1806-07. 3 volumes, 8° (192 x 110mm.), engraved portrait of the author by Tassaert after Trexel, large folding engraved map after J.B. Poirson, hand-coloured in outline (top inner corners of quire M in vol. II repaired with very slight loss of text, slightly browned throughout), late 19th-century calf-backed cloth (spines a trifle worn, spine of vol. II loose). Provenance : Kenneth K. Mackenzie (1934 bequest to:) The Horticultural Society of New York (bookplate). FIRST EDITION. 'Robin witnessed at New Orleans and at Nachitoches, the transfer of Louisiana to the United States; he gives a most ample description of Louisiana's Western interior and of Spanish Texas' (Howes).
