ROMAN BRONZE EWER 1st-3rd century AD A sheet-bronze biconical ewer with deep shoulder and conical neck, funicular rim; cast D-section handle with thumb-pad and palmette detail to the finial; the base cast with concentric rings. 727 grams, 24 cm (9 1/2"). Fine condition; small loss to rim, minor crack to equator. Provenance Ex Steinberg collection; acquired London art market, 1960s-1970s.
