18th to 19th century Surimono, comprising three sheets by Shinsai from the series Kasen Awase (Contest of the Immortals of Poetry), each print inscribed with two poems and depicting women enagaged in everyday activities based on a shell theme, one signed Shinsai ga; the fourth by Gosei (Hokuga), from the series Toto Meibutsu Awase (Famous Products of the Eastern Capital), of a karakuri in the form of an ornate drum standing on a tripod, signed Gosei hitsu; the fifth by Umezono, depicting a teabowl beside a bronze mirror, three kyoka inscribed above, including one poem by Asaka Katsumi; the sixth by Kyochoshi Fumimaro, of a Chinese water ewer beside a suzuribako decorated with a butterfly, signed Kyochoshi Fumimaro ga hei dai.
