Beschreibung:

.303 British, 25.25" barrel, S/N 74C9037. Blued finish, hard wood stock. Marked with the Savage "S" in a box behind the triggerguard and on nose cap, and with an "S" on the receiver and upper barrel band. Receiver also marked US PROPERTY and with a flaming bomb inspection. Receiver ring is marked MADE IN USA. Matching serial numbers throughout, including receiver, receiver ring, bolt, stock and magazine. Not import marked. Savage produced No4 rifles on contract for the British government between 1941 and 1944, with their output being the smallest of all No4 makers. The US Property marks were related to the Lend Lease program, allowing the US government to supply "US" property to the British under that special arrangement while remaining technically "neutral", prior to the US entering WWII. The rifle is accompanied by a No4 spike bayonet and a No4 knife bayonet, both with scabbards, and an OD green web sling. Condition: Very good. Retains some original thinning finish. Mechanically functional, good bore. Stock with bumps and dings. Bayonets and sling very good.
