Beschreibung:

SCARECROW CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2006 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 Napa 2 slightly scuffed labels Lot 1275 3 bts (sc) per lot: USD 750-1000 The notorious Cabernet grapes of Scarecrow were first planted on J.J. Cohn's Rutherford estate in 1945, adjacent to the Inglenook Vineyard. The MGM production chief (Ben Hurr, Wizard of Oz) sold the grapes to what are some of Napa Valley's most famous wines, including the original Opus One, Robert Mondavi Reserve and Joseph Phelps' Insignia. In 2002, Cohn's grandson, Brett Lopez, purchased the property along with Francis Ford Coppola and divided it between the two of them. The first vintage of Scarecrow was 2003, when Brett decided to honor his grandfather by naming the wine after the iconic character. Scarecrow has quickly achieved cult status, due in no small part to its distinguished pedigree and what are thought to be the oldest vines in Napa Valley. Quantity: 1
