Madrid: the Widow of Joachîn Ibarra, 1790. 2 o (347 x 245 mm). 3 engraved plates (2 folding) by MANUEL GAMBORINO, JOSEPH RODRIGUEZ and FRANCO MARTI after FELIX CARAZA. (Some dampstaining.) Modern quarter morocco, marbled boards. A celebration in Seville honoring the coronation of CHARLES IV (1748-1819), King of Spain in 1789. The public buildings of the city were ornately decorated and illuminated and festivities included a proclamation by the major, masked balls, and numerous theatrical performances. The finely engraved plates illustrate the elaborate adornment of the façade, the side, and the gallery of the Casa de Ayuntamiento. Berlin 3093; Palau 101923; Vinet 580.
