PERSIA ̶ SEVRUGUIN, ANTOIN AND B. AGAIANTZ Album of photographs of Persia. [c.1870s-80s] Oblong folio (274 x 360mm.), 81 albumen prints (from 115 x 155mm. to 205 x 270mm., or the reverse), 35 with hand-colour, 10 signed in the negative by Sevruguin, 11 signed in the negative by Agaiantz, most captioned in French in ink, mounted on card, recto and verso, contemporary dark red morocco-backed red cloth boards, upper cover stamped in gilt 'PERSE' and with initials "G.A.", some image fading, slight dust-staining, binding expertly refurbished A RARE NINETEENTH-CENTURY ALBUM OF PHOTOGRAPHS OF PERSIA, most likely compiled by a French diplomat, including views of Qazvin, thermal springs, Mazandaran and views along the road to Tehran, the shah's palace, views in Tehran, the garden and interior of the ministry of foreign affairs, the garden of the French legation, views around Tehran, the shah's zoological garden at Doshan Tappeh, Tabriz, Isfahan, and 14 portraits of individuals and groups, including Naser al-Din Shah Qajar.Condition ReportCondition is described in the main body of the cataloguing, where appropriate.
