A FINE COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION, including an important series of etchings by della Bella of the famous fountains and gardens at Pratolino. The Medici villa Pratolino was demolished in 1824, and the gardens remodelled during the 19th-century. All that remains of the original vision is Giambologna's gigantic statue of Appennino. The plates are all in their second or third states with numbers added. The first of Della Bella's plates has an engraved title added beneath, a state not recorded by de Vesme Massar.
