Each of madake bamboo and rattan, plaited in imitation of classic flower-basket styles; the first with mutsume-ami (hexagonal plaiting) over gozame-ami (mat plaiting), embellished on one side with a paler natural bamboo stem and strips carved to resemble bamboo leaves and with an up-and-over handle; the second executed in ara-ami (rough plaiting) style with a twined handle; the third executed in mutsume-ami (hexagonal plaiting) on the base interlaced on the sides with wider bamboo strips and uncut stems, with an integral handle; the fourth with two loose mimi (ring handles) to either side, executed in coarse kikuzoko-ami (chrysanthemum base plaiting), the sides mainly in ajiro-ami (twill plaiting) The tallest 40.2cm (15¾in) high.
