SIDNEY NOLAN (1917-1992) Bird 1969 mixed media on paper signed lower centre: nolan inscribed verso: 18 June 69 Nolan 30 x 25cm PROVENANCE: Sir Sidney Nolan By inheritance to his widow, Lady Nolan The Estate of Lady Nolan, UK Estimate $2,000-3,000 Condition: Paper in sound condition with no creases or holes. The ripolin pigment is not consistent throughout the work. The oil in the paint has likely prevented the pigment from adhering in numerous places and so has the appearance of "losses" in specific areas, mostly where the brush would have last left the paper surface thereby leaving behind the oil. Well framed. Overall size: 58 x 43cm The opinions expressed in the condition reports are a guide only and should not be treated as a statement of fact.
