Description: Signed Presentation Framed Photograph of Kaiser Wilhelm II when Honorary Admiral of the Fleet British Royal Navy 1889-1892, fine black and white photograph showing the young emperor in full ceremonial uniform of the British Royal navy with dress sword and Victorian peaked cap. The image has clear full signature of Wilhelm II in the lower margin. Housed in a wooden presentation frame with gilt metal floral fittings to the corners, oakleaf relief gilt edging and Imperial Crown mount in gilt. Complete with brass stand to the reverse. Frame measures 39 x 47 ½ cms. Wilhelm II was the eldest grandchild of Queen Victoria and as such was given various honorary roles in both he Royal Navy and the British army. Likewise his cousins such as Tsar Nicholas II was honorary commander of various German regiments. This framed picture would have been personally presented by the Kaiser to a dignitary or someone of importance. An example of this photograph remains in the British Royal Family’s Royal Collection.
