Jones' (on an old label attached to the reverse) pencil, black and red chalk, watercolour and bodycolour, heightened with gum arabic and gold on paper laid on canvas 37 ½ x 16 1/8 in. (95.3 x 41.2 cm.) Provenance given by the artist to Rosalind Howard, Countess of Carlisle, and thence by descent.
