There are Artists's pinholes to the corners of the work. There appear to be historic frame abrasions with associated rubbing and loss to the extreme left and lower edges. There are a few tiny flecks of loss in the lower half of the painting, and towards the upper left corner, as well as further possible more minor instances. There are a few fine lines of craquelure in the upper left branches of the central tree, above the train engine, as well as one or two further possible more minor instances elsewhere. There are some lines of reticulation to the brown forms towards the centre of the right edge, only visible upon close inspection. There are a few specks of dirt and staining to the work. This excepting, the work appears in very good overall condition. Inspection under Ultraviolet light appears to reveal instances of fluorescence and retouching, most notable towards the lower right corner. There is a thick layer of varnish to the work, which obscures a more accurate reading. The work is presented in a painted wooden frame.
