Of Student Poverty: Considered in its Economic, Political, Psychological, Sexual and Particularly Intellectual Aspects, and a Modest Proposal for its Remedy. One of the most famous and widely reprinted Situationist texts. The polemic tract was conceived as a way for the S.I. to apply their theories in the real world, through collaboration with students at the University of Strasbourg. It called for insurrection against all authority: professors, intellectuals, God, the government, the church, communist parties, fellow students.
Included are 9 versions, in different languages, average size 21 x 15 cm, 28-38 pages: (1) De la Misere en Milieu Etudiant. Paris, 1967. (2) Das Elend der Studenten und der beginn einer Epoche. SI/ Projektgruppe Gegengesellschaft, Dusseldorf, Sept 1970. (3) Sobre la Miseria en el medio estudiantil. Ediciones MAYO-37, text in Spanish, published for students in Zaragoza and Madrid, undated.
