SOPRANI, Raffaello. Vite de' Pittori, Scultori, ed Architetti Genovesi . Edited and continued by Carlo Giuseppe Ratti Genoa: 1768. 2 volumes, 4to (255 x 190mm.) Engraved title and allegorical frontispiece in volume 1, engraved vignettes on letterpress titles in both volumes, engraved headpiece on dedication, and numerous engraved portrait illustrations. Contemporary French mottled calf, spine gilt with morocco labels (repaired at head and foot of spine and corners, slightly rubbed). Provenance: Ecole Sainte Genevieve, B.D.J. (stamp). Second edition, with the first volume by Soprani and the second entirely by Ratti. The first volume is prefaced by a life of the author by Giovanni Niccolò Cavanna. Brunet V.455. (2)
