Provenance : John 3rd Earl of Hyndford, Castlecraig (1701-1767, armorial bookplate). The Sportsman's Dictionary: or the Gentleman's Companion for Town and Country . London: Fielding and Walker, 1778. 4° (266 x 212mm). 16 engraved plates. (Some offsetting and spotting.) Contemporary polished calf (head of spine chipped, extremities worn). Provenance : Sir Thomas Fraser Grove, 1st Bt. Ferne (1823-1897, armorial bookplate and inscription); with 5 other works in 6 volumes including Schwerdt's copy of The Sportman's Cyclopedia (London, 1831), and 3 other early 19th-century sporting dictionaries.
