Sold Without ReserveStilbite on ApophylliteNasik District, Maharashtra, India Overall size 13.0 x 13.0 x 7.0 cm. A large example of pale pinkish-orange stilbite in a classic 'bow tie' formation on pale green apophyllite crystal base. With custom lucite base. A diverse family of beautiful aluminosilicates and related minerals have been recovered from the Pune and Jalgaon districts of Maharashtra State in India in great quantities, creating wonderful opportunities for collectors to experience their incredible range of color and crystal morphology in specimens that are often impressive in scale. Aesthetically perched on beds of white to peach pink stilbite blades and “bowties”, minerals such as electric blue cavansite (a silicate colored by the rare earth metal vanadium), bright green fluorapophyllite (a phyllosilicate colored by iron), and dramatic, delicate sprays of scolecite (a calcium silicate zeolite) amongst many other beautiful varieties have increasingly found their way into many modern mineral collections.Condition reportIn good condition.
