Text in Dutch and French in parallel columns. Volumes I-IV with 2 letterpress titles, engraved additional title by Th. Koning after Jacobus Buys in volume I. 4-page list of subscribers bound in at the front of volume I. 442 hand-coloured engraved plates after Gerrit Wartenaar Lambertsz., type-ornament head- and tailpieces. (Scattered light spotting, light damp-marking affecting upper margins of some leaves, many plates trimmed at head affecting number, lacking second additional title in volume I, volume II additional title, and 4-page revised list of subscribers in volume III.) Provenance : names added to most figures in ink or pencil in an early 19th-century hand; occasional pencilled annotations to the text in French in the same hand. FIRST EDITIONS.
