(7 5/8 x 4 3/4 in.), contemporary panelled calf, rebacked with original backstrips laid down, corners strengthened, upper joint of vol. 1 cracked, portrait slightly creased, a few slight stains, six lines added in ink on 2H1 in vol. II, new calf box case. FIRST EDITION, Teerink's "A" edition with the frontispiece portrait in vol. I in second state (with legend around oval frame), G6 and 2E8 in vol. II are cancels (a later transcription of the uncancelled text of G6 is pasted to the stub); engraved portrait, 5 engraved maps and one engraved diagram.
